Fine art photographer, Michael Cottrell has an eye for dimension. Fed up with how flat digital images can sometimes be, Michael took matters into his own hands, quite literally. By shooting, scanning and editing all of his own work, he is able to more accurately capture tone, depth and range — all with a little soul.

That passion for depth comes through in his personal life as well. Most weekends, Michael and wife Kim, a middle school special education teacher, can be found chasing their son, Luke, up the Blue Ridge Mountains or down the Chestatee River or if they’re really lucky, a date night to a Willie Nelson concert.

From weddings and portraits to events, Michael is a versatile, seasoned photographer that shoots both film and digital all through the lens of fine art. His work has been featured in Aisle Society, Coastal Brides, Grey Likes Weddings, How He Asked, Magnolia Rouge, and Style Me Pretty.
